We have known Sally Mackinnon for at least 12 years as a pet sitter and friend.  She is completely reliable and responsible, taking good care of our dogs and cats. One cat has to be medicated 2 times daily or he wouldn’t survive. Our dogs love Sally and are always happy to see her.

She plays with them outside and grooms them all.  As a plus, she waters plants, brings in mail and leaves my house cleaner than when she came!

We’ve been using Sally to look after our dogs and our home for the past 15 years. We have total peace of mind while we’re away from home, knowing that Sally is there.

Sally’s experience, common sense, and caring nature make her the ideal fit for people who want to be able to leave home and know with certainty that their pets and their homes are in very capable hands. She’s proactive and hands-on if there’s a problem (heat stopped working in mid-winter) and as a PRO, she knows what to do, without waiting to be told. Sally is great at what she does, and one of the nicest people to work with.

Sally Mackinnon has provided animal caring services for our two golden retrievers for the past 5 years. This has included individual and/or multiple day visits as well as staying overnight at our house for periods up to one week. Sally has great compassion for animals and our dogs look forward to her visits and the care bestowed upon them.

Sally is very reliable and trustworthy. She is responsive to items in the house that may have issues (for example alarms when batteries need replacement) and is quick to call us in these instances. Sally has excellent judgment and we feel quite comfortable leaving our animals and premises in her care and supervision. We have no hesitancy in recommending her services to you. Thank you.

My name is Kim Benzel, and I have known Sally Mackinnon for 13 years now in the context of her caring for my dogs and my house. Sally came to me in 1997 highly recommended by a multitude of people who had known her and worked with her for many years in the Bedford area. Most of these people were friends of mine who are life long animal lovers and therefore extremely particular about how their animals are cared for. I soon learned that their high regard for Sally was in no way overstated.

When Sally first began helping me with my dogs, I had six miniature Dachshunds who were mostly rescued, all adorable and not a single one very well-behaved or well-trained (any Dachshund owner/lover will know what I am talking about)! However, their behavior did not bother Sally one bit; in fact, she accepted them immediately with all their shortcomings. At the time I was home much more than I am today but when I was away, it would be for extended periods of time. From the first minute when I saw Sally interact with my dogs I knew that I would never have to worry while gone. The dogs and the house would always be in the very best care!

All these years later I still feel the same. Now I work full-time in New York City and rely on Sally for 90% of the care of my dogs. They are now older, complicated medically and do not at all like being in the city so I leave them at home in Bedford with Sally in charge. To say that they love her is almost silly – they absolutely adore her! I have no doubt that this is because Sally goes above and beyond what she is actually paid for. She will take them on long walks in the woods, snuggle with them at night, feed them just the right amount of their favorite treats, and love them to the same degree as I would. And for me Sally is a life saver. Not only does she always makes sure that the dogs are perfectly cared for, she also sees to it that the house is always in tip top shape. In all the years that she has been in and out of my house and my life, Sally has never left the house in any condition other than how I left it, and I am a very fastidious person! She makes sure that when I come home on weekends there is enough dog food for the dogs and milk for my coffee; that the dogs’ beds are washed and clean; and that just enough lights are on and the house warm and welcoming. There is never a thing out of place or forgotten. And most important of all, the dogs are as happy and loved as they could possibly be. There really is no amount of money or appreciation that would adequately repay Sally for what she does for our family and no limit to how wholeheartedly I would recommend her to anyone who loves their pets and their home.
